In the spring of '63 the merchants and service clubs Dixon gave us the best Junior prom anywhere - anytime. I took a beautiful girl by name of Carole Tayman. I believe that she went on to study art at the U. of Cincinnati. First off it stared with "coketail" parties in several homes in the late afternoon. Then a sit down formal dinner in the school cafeterium. Then we all drove in new luxury convertibles provided by the car dealers across the river to the movie theater downtown where we exited the cars and crossed onto a platform where we introduced our dates and ourselves with TV cameras rolling. Into the theater where we saw a pre-release of a comedy with Bob Hope - Bachelor In Paradise. After that, back over to the school and the dance. After that we were given a post prom party in the Elks' Club. If that wasn't enough; we all went out to a park on the river where the Kiwanis Club cooked us a great breakfast and we water skied. One of the greatest memories of my youth.
